243Win Sporter 700R barrel

I'm very happy with my purchase. Easily installed and shoots very well. My rifle weights 7-1/2lbs scoped with a aftermarket carbon fiber stock. HAPPY Customer...

Great idea, great feeling super light rifle, 1.5” accuracy

I love the rifles light weight and attractive aesthetics. I’ve had it for years and tried every bullet and powder combo I could conceivably try, but nothing seems to shoot less than 1.5”. Cold bore is never on paper with any scope I own. The action screws are tight, the barrel is tight, I’ve used different scopes. Suppressed, unsuppressed. Nothing seems to change. The best I’ve gotten is TTSX BT with 96gn of Retumbo @ 3.535 COAL to shoot .80” but that’s excluding the cold bore that was edge of target at 100 yards.

Oh by the ways with rebarreling a gun.

I’m still in the process of having it mounted. Ask me again in 6 months. I am concerned if it will hold up. The contour also forced me to have to buy a new stock. Unexpected costs that I should have considered before hand. I didn’t understand I might as well just have purchased a new gun. I also was informed by my gunsmith that a prethreaded barrel makes it harder to mount. It also doesn’t have a lot of room to place the barrel caliber stamp.
