This will work but does the color does not match the barrel and the OD for this 1/2x28 thread protector is significantly larger than the barrel of my 223 MPR. I am concerned over changing the harmonic balance on the barrel????

Why wasn't included it included with the rifle?

Good quality, perfect color match for my rifle an MPR in .223 Rem. My rifle in .223 came with an expensive directional muzzle brake. Why? As I have said, the rifle is chambered in .223. The thread protector would have been much more useful and and I wouldn't have had to spend $40 more bucks for it.
